Ageing deal

The Ageing Deal brings together European projects funded under the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action, The Silver Deal – Person-centred health and care in European regions. Shifting our focus from ‘Silver’ to ‘Ageing’, the Ageing Deal is an initiative dedicated to fostering a healthier, more inclusive future for older adults.

This collaboration currently includes three projects.

COMFORTage is pioneering efforts to address the complex challenges of ageing populations, dementia and frailty. By combining clinical expertise, technological innovation and community engagement, the project aims to improve the quality of life for individuals and establish a pan-European framework for community-based prevention and intervention strategies to facilitate effective lifestyle changes.

SmILE is developing smart solutions for earlier diagnosis and better long-term care of musculoskeletal diseases. With AI-driven insights and a patient-centred approach, the project aims to empower older adults to take charge of their health and stay active for longer. The goal is not just better care today but a lasting impact on health equity in Europe.

STAGE is studying healthy ageing and multi-morbidity using a life-course approach to better understand life-long processes and their connections with biological, environmental, social, historical and infrastructural factors. The aim is to integrate this knowledge into transferable person-centred solutions for early diagnosis and screening, treatment and long-term management of multi-morbidity.

The collaborative action areas for the Ageing Deal projects are:

Deliver digitalised, person-centred integrated care and primary health services responsive to older people

Foster healthy ageing, improve social engagement, and promote better lives for older people and their families and communities

Change how we think, feel and act towards age and ageing
