Prof.
Efrat Shadmi

Professor in Nursing and Health Services Research

Efrat Shadmi, RN, PhD, serves as a Full Professor at the Department of Nursing and Vice Dean of Research Affairs at the Faculty of Social Welfare and Health Sciences, University of Haifa, Israel. Specializing in health services research, her work focuses on understanding the distribution of morbidity and multimorbidity among diverse population groups. She evaluates interventions aimed at improving care integration, equitable healthcare delivery, and its associated outcomes. Dr. Shadmi earned her doctoral degree from the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2005. Since 2007, she has also served as a senior policy consultant to Clalit Health Services’ Innovation Division – Health Policy Planning department, contributing valuable insights to non-profit Health Fund initiatives.

Anna Zisberg

Professor in Geriatric Nursing

Prof. Anna Zisberg, PhD, MA, FAAN, is a Full Professor at the Cheryl Spencer Department of Nursing and Director of the Center of Research & Study of Aging at the University of Haifa. Additionally, she holds the position of Affiliated Professor at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA, USA.

Prof. Zisberg’s research primarily focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying changes in functional, cognitive, and emotional status among older adults during health challenges, particularly hospitalization. She also explores the impact of organizational structure and care quality on hospitalization outcomes and the overall well-being of older adults.

Dr. Chava Kurtz

Postdoctoral researcher in Health Services

Dr. Chava Kurtz, RN, MA, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Nursing at the University of Haifa, Israel. She earned her PhD in Health Sciences from the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University. Her research focuses on patient self-management, implementation science, and chronic illness care. Alongside her academic work, she has extensive clinical nursing experience across acute, community, and chronic care settings.
