WORK PACKAGE 3 OBJECTIVE
To meta-review scientific data on the built environment and its association with chronic diseases in older adults, helping develop an evidence-informed healthy ageing index.
This will inform a geographical healthy ageing atlas and local healthy ageing observatories.
WHY IS WP3 IMPORTANT?
The Neighbourhood Healthy Ageing Atlas (NHAI) will enable the development of age-friendly neighbourhoods by charting exposures in an interactive, web-based map. It will be Europe-wide to ensure maximum benefit across the continent.

T3.3

ASSESSMENT OF THE INDEX
Assessing the two prototypes of the index by engaging with older individuals and their caregivers to refine the tool further.

WP3 STAKEHOLDER IMPACTS
- The creation of the Healthy Ageing Atlas will allow policymakers and stakeholders to access a neighbourhood-level understanding of ageing in their area. This resource could help urban planners develop age-friendly neighbourhoods.
- The Healthy Ageing Observatories will enable the work done to continue, ensuring the use of the Atlas beyond the project’s lifetime.
