WORK PACKAGE 8 OBJECTIVE
WP8 will run two person-centred clinical studies in the Northern Finland
Birth Cohort 1966 (NFBC1966) and KORA in Germany. It will monitor and quantify
the impacts of preventative measures on biological ageing, multi-morbidity
and wellbeing, whilst evaluating existing and novel approaches to healthy ageing.
WHY IS WP8
IMPORTANT?
NFBC1966 will collect and monitor data over an extended period on health and lifestyle, whilst KORA will measure the effect of a health coaching and lifestyle app intervention to understand its impact on citizens’ health.
This data-gathering and testing of health monitoring and personalised interventions is essential in guiding the work of STAGE. It will also enable the development of practical solutions for healthier ageing.

Initiation of Studies
T8.2

Implementation of Studies

T8.3

Health Monitoring in NFBC1966
Conducting an extensive clinical study, continuing with
two years of health monitoring via the Ab.Acus app.
T8.4

Personalised Interventions in KORA
Delivering a person-centred, digitally supported lifestyle intervention for 12 months through the Liva platform (health coaching and app) and to assess its effect on body composition, strength and perceived well-being after one year.

WP8 STAKEHOLDER
IMPACTS
- Older people will be empowered to take an active role in managing their lifestyle, physical and mental health via health monitoring and personalised digital solutions. Co-creation, testing and evaluation of tools will ensure a greater probability of feeling empowered and supported.
- Understanding of the economic and health impacts will help inform policymakers as to the feasibility of introducing these types of interventions and monitoring into routine practice, to support healthy ageing from as early as possible.
